Stars of the 80s not only represent an era of the industry but also define the culture of that generation. 1. Jami Gertz 

Jami Gertz developed a steady career on TV since the 1980s. She kept appearing in TV series like ER and Modern Family, and 2 sitcoms: Still Standing and The Neighbors. Now, she’s also a part-owner of the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA along with her husband, Tony Ressler. 

2. Scott Baio 

Being a sitcom fixture in the 80s, Scott Baio can be found in Happy Days, Joanie Loves Chachi, as Chachi, and in Charles in Charge as the main character. Later, he appeared on reality shows, including Scott Baio Is 45 and Singles. It seems he’s now taking a break from the screen after being diagnosed with a brain tumor and cerebral microvascular disease. 

3. Daryl Hannah 

Starring in Splash, Blade Runner, and Wall Street, Daryl Hannah has appeared on the screen from an early age. She was well known for portraying Elle Driver in Kill Bill. Now, she is an active environmentalist who holds many other political activist’s views.

4. Rob Lowe 

Appearing in films like The Outsiders, Rob Lowe made his way to the star list in the 80s. However, his career took quite some time to rebound due to a sex tape scandal in 1988. Now, he’s still active in the field not only as an actor but also as a director. 

5. Kelly LeBrock 

Thanks to the reality TV explosion of the millennium, Kelly LeBrock has benefited as the “fantasy” woman in The Woman in Red and Weird Science. Apart from her appearances on TV these days, such as Hell’s kitchen and Growing Up Supermodel, she’s also a spokesperson for Club Carson, whose members are children who have cancer. 

6. Michael Schoeffling

As Jake Ryan in Sixteen Candles, Michael Schoeffling, gained a place in the industry. However, he ended his acting life in 1991 due to getting few roles. He has later started a career as the owner of a woodworking shop which produces handcrafted furniture. 

7. Elisabeth Shue 

Elisabeth Shue earned her place as Marty McFly’s girlfriend in the Back to the Future sequels and Ali Mills from The Karate Kid. She later starred in Leaving Las Vegas as a prostitute. Now, she has appeared in more TV series like CSI and The Boys.

8. Matt Dillon

Known for The Outsiders, Matt Dillon has appeared in quite a few hits since the 80s, such as the villain in the comedy classic There’s Something About Mary. More recently, he has starred in the movie Fonzo and Proxima.

9. Phoebe Cates 

Appearing in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Phoebe Cates rose to fame as one of the most beautiful women of the ’80s. Now, she has almost retired from acting to focus on raising her 3 kids with her husband, actor Kevin Kline. 

10. Lisa Bonet

In the 80s, Lisa Bonet is best known as Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show. She had a daughter, Zoë, who is an actress herself, with her ex-husband Lenny Kravitz. Recently, Bonet is still acting, appearing in a number of TV shows, and she’s now married actor Jason Momoa.

11. Jeremy Miller

Known as Ben from Growing Pains, Jeremy Miller still acts occasionally. He’s appeared in a few movies like Milk and Fashion, Never Have I Ever, and Ditching Party. Most recently, he has become a spokesperson for the rehabilitation company administered his own treatment for alcoholism.

12. Mr. T

Best known as B.A.Baracus on The A-Team, professional wrestler and fool pitier, Mr. T also fought Rocky as Clubber Lang in Rocky III. He’s been a regular figure on TV since then, almost always as himself. Most recently, he has placed 10th in Dancing with the Stars.

Justine Bateman has continued to act since starring in Family Ties. She is best known for her role as the mysterious Nellie Bluth in Arrested Development. She’s now become a writer, and her first book, Fame: The Hijacking of Reality, is published.

Mia Sara still appears on television frequently since portraying the carefree girlfriend from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. She is now married to Brian Jim Henson. She also has acquired a pilot’s license and enjoys flying.

15. Alyssa Milano

Since Who’s the Boss, Alyssa Milano has never left the public eye, especially for her appearance on the show Charmed. Now, she makes occasional TV appearances and has popularized the #MeToo movement, drawing attention to sexual harassment and assault.
